Every January I have a connecting set of 31 reviews which center around one universal theme or series that makes up Buttered Popcorn Movie Month. This is my largest series each year and for 2021 I am excited to change things up. Where for the past few years I have tackled massive franchises like Godzilla and James Bond, this year I am pushing myself to look at a section of cinema that normally gets tragically left behind: international cinema. Most people like to say that they enjoy international cinema but very few actually do the work to go out and explore the pieces of film that can be found from various corners of the globe. Every day for Buttered Popcorn Movie Month 2021 I will be reviewing a film from a different country and where not every single one will be in a foreign language completely, each will be from a diverse voice giving painting a picture of a diverse culture. With no restrictions in release date or genre, this should be an incredibly diverse and exciting series that will see me tackle both some of the most well renowned films of all time and hidden gems not nearly given enough attention. With that said, welcome to Buttered Popcorn Movie Month 2021!
