Whether one loves or resents the studio, there is no denying just how big of an impact Disney has had on culture. Creating some of the most famous stories of all time with iconography that still is iconic today, the studio has continued to release feature after feature to both critical and commercial success. 2023 happens to mark the 100-year anniversary of the founding of Walt Disney Animation Studios, known in 2023 as Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio, so it seemed fitting to dive into the world of Disney with Buttered Popcorn Movie Month 2023! Every day in January a different Disney film will be reviewed spanning from the their first feature, 1937's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, to 2021's Encanto!
The only problem is simply how many Disney films there are with the studio releasing 61-features at the time of this writing. With only 31 days in January, there simply is not enough time to cover every feature, even when one removes the 6 features that have already been reviewed on the site. As a result, for the first time ever it won't only be Buttered Popcorn Movie Month dedicated to Disney but every annual series on Buttered Popcorn. Both Animation April and September Classics will be dedicated to reviewing Disney films and due to the sheer amount of them, there will also be bonus reviews outside of these series to ensure all 61 features get covered. 2023 is going to be a year long celebration of Disney on Buttered Popcorn and that kicks off with Buttered Popcorn Movie Month!
